Rais-Cobra
TM
is our newest form of SuperComputer. It is extremely unique, incorporating
CSS-RAIS technology (patent pending). Computer Sales & Service's
new "Reconfigurable Array of Inexpensive Servers" (tm), or RAIS
technology, for short, is based on the bundling of a very large number of
low cost servers. Each is designed around a central memory, high speed
network and high speed hard drive architecture, and a multiply-instanced
Linux or Windows 2000 Operating System Server Complex, each RAIS COBRA
system can deliver from 25 to 250 IntelPentium III, AMD K6 or Intel
Celeron processors, in multiples of 1.4 Terabytes of Hard Drive
Storage. Each
RAIS-Cobra comes with its own open systems Router, designed to support DSL,
T1, T3, DSx, and OCx connectivity, and each RAIS-COBRA is extendable
in multiples of 25 Processor Units at a time, called an "expansion
node". This unique system has the ability to operate as a 'Mini
Hotel Data Center", supporting as many as 12,500 Domains per
node. |
The need
for custom computer
systems in Data
Centers and ISPs has risen steadily since the advent of the modern
Personal Computer in 1981.
With the advent of RAIS-Cobra, Computer Sales & Service has raised the bar by
packaging an entire Data Center in a single rack cabinet, creating a space
saving, power saving system that delivers enormous power and
communicability. Each node has a maximum peak surge delivery rate of
250,000 web replies per second, concurrently. A group of 10 nodes
can easily service a population of more than 2 million user requests
concurrently, and with an acceptable 3 second response time, nearly 6.8
million concurrent users can be responded to when running Apache
Stronghold and Branching Group Protocol.
