July 10, 2001 - (C R A N F O R D, N J) - Computer Sales & Service announces a new
line of PC products aimed towards the Corporate User and Home PC Marketplace.
The line, called the Big Book (tm) 2001 series Personal Computers, offers a
choice and Intel Pentium III 733, 866, 933 MHz and 1GHz models for the higher
end Home and Office User or Intel Celeron II 733 and up and new Via Cyrix-III
CPUs for the Home User on a budget.
CSS indicated that the BBPC is compatible with the newest 'Tualatin' series of
Intel Pentium III Processors up to 1.4GHz performance which will be offered upon
their arrival in the market. CSS also indicated that a Pentium 4 version and
Athlon 4 Versions of the Big Book will eventually be offered.
According to CSS, the Big Book PCs provide a higher level of performance per
dollar spent, than any comparable MidTower ATX or FullTower ATX PC of the same
speed, yet occupy only 12"x15"x3" of space, and operate in both
upright and horizontal positions, a cabinet design called "Micro-Flexible-ATX"
by the Company. Equipped with high performance space saver flat panel speakers
and high performance 5.1 Audio compatible Creative Sound Blaster/Alib Stereo
"Engine", standard Telephone Headset, and a choice of CDRW, DVD, and
CD, the Big Book offers the finest of Multimedia for the user requiring both
Office and Internet or Streaming Video functionjality. High performance comes
from a "native mode" 133/100 Mhz bus architecture, a mainboard
specially assembled for American by Gigabyte Corporation.
The rich Multimedia features of the Big Book, are complimented by the Advanced
64 MB AGP4x OPEN GL chipset used to implement the product's very unusual high
speed Video Adapter, which supports both DVD Playback Acceleration and OPEN GL
(GLIDE and 3D/GL) compatibility, with the Sound Blaster 5.1 Compatibility of the
Big Book's powerful Audio engine.
The BIG BOOK
The Big Book provides the User with a combination of features at a very low
price: AGP4X 64 megabyte video, 8x DVD Player, 128 MB of lifetime warranty
133MHz SDRAM (expandable to 512M), and a choice of hard drives from 10 to 60
Gigabytes, with full support for the new ATA100 standard and 7200 RPM operation
of its disks above 10GB in size.
The Home Edition's Video Adapter includes new Open GL Compatible Video with
3D/GL and GLIDE compatibility, for maximum gaming capability in such a low price
machine.
Notably, CSS includes a free 56K v.90 dial up fax modem, and a free 10/100
Ethernic Adapter in each Big Book, along with dual USB Hubs for maximum
connectivity. Specially designed Internet Keyboard with oneTouch(tm) features,
and a specially designed Ergonomic III CSS mouse, are included with the product.
Starting at only $699 with Windows ME, users can order it with optional Celeron
II/MMX processors up to 850 Mhz or any Pentium III processor. The unit can ship
with a KDS v7-i Monitor (an additional $179) or a KDS 15" LCD Flat Screen
(for $449 extra). Larger monitors are also available, along with CSS's 00-32
Inkjet Printer (an additional $89) which features twin cartridges (Black/White
and Color), and CSS's MiraScan 3300u Flatbed Scanner (an additional $89) for
highest quality printing and scanning.
CSS is shipping the product with Windows ME and Windows 2000 Professional,
either individually, or together, in Dual Boot orientation, for both the Home
and the Corporate user. Customer's may also order from a long line of optional
features, including Digital Cameras, external CDRW, Red Hat Linux operating
system, secondary Display Adapter for a unique form of Duo View capabilities,
optional Firewire and other system components.
